Bill Clinton: First Black President?

From Game Change, a new book on the 2008 Presidential campaign, on why Ted Kennedy was offended about the conversation he had with Bill Clinton about Presidential Candidate Barack Obama : (Page 218):

"Recounting the conversation later to a friend, Teddy fumed that Clinton had said, A few years ago this guy would have been getting us coffee."

Is it really any surprise that Clinton said that? What do you expect from the man who as governor of Arkansas signed a law that made Robert E. Lee Day a state holiday?

Sarah Would Have Done It

(Written during the 2008 Presidential Campaign when Obama picked Biden as his running mate.)

Obama just picked Joe Biden to be his running mate. I love it. This is a guy who is known for two things: (1) having to withdraw from the 1988 Presidential Campaign because he plagiarized a speech from a British politician; and (2) for having a hair weave, or hair plugs. Lets just call it "fake hair".

Forget about a black president, is America ready for a Hair Club For Men President? In his speeches (the ones he doesn't plagiarize) is Biden going to proclaim "I'm not only the Hair Club For Men President, I'm running for Vice President!" Does the Constitution allow for one person to be Hair Club for Men President while being Vice President? Is it true that William Shatner declined Obama's offer to be his running mate? That Obama expects Biden to "weave" his way across America into the campaign? That when Obama asked Biden if there are any skeletons in his closet, Biden replied "Nothing we can't sweep under the rug."

Here is a guaranteed way for McCain to win:

There is only one Vice Presidential Debate. (There are 3 presidential debates, and each one is going to be must see TV. Ali-Frazier, with McCain as Frazier, of course. The last Presidential Debate will be at Hofstra University, so if anybody has any local pull and wants to attend, they should do so.)

Anyway, the way McCain can guarantee victory is by instructing his Vice Presidential Nominee to do the following:

During the Vice Presidential debate, when Biden is babbling about " Nothing to Fear But Fear Itself" or "Ask Not What Your Country Can Do..... McCain's Vice Presidential Nominee should calmly walk over to the other podium AND RIP THAT FU*KIN RAT RIGHT OFF OF BIDEN'S HEAD. Expose his bald ass to the American people.

Victory would be assured.

Letter to a Black Female Friend

(This was a response to a friend during the last days of the 2008 Presidential Election. Her argument was that the polls indicated Obama had it in the bag, I argued that you can't trust the polls. She was right.)

Tonja:

As one of the three black women in America willing to speak to me (the other two: being Condoleezza Rice & Colin Powell's wife) after my vigorous support of John McCain, I respect your independence. However, your judgment here is more erratic than a drunken R Kelly hanging out in front of a All Girls Junior High School.

You say I should listen to the polls. I would rather listen to the walls. They have proven to be more accurate. Why should I listen to the polls when this time of the year, they always underrepresent the vote for the Republican candidate? Check out the data:

In 1976, Jimmy Carter narrowly beat Gerald Ford 50.1 percent to 48 percent. And yet, on Sept. 1, Carter led Ford by 15 points.
Just weeks before the election, on Oct. 16, 1976, Carter led Ford in the Gallup Poll by 6 percentage points -- down from his 33-point Gallup Poll lead in August.

In 1980, Ronald Reagan beat Carter by nearly 10 points, 51 percent to 41 percent. In a Gallup Poll released days before the election on Oct. 27, it was Carter who led Reagan 45 percent to 42 percent.

In 1984, Reagan walloped Walter Mondale 58.8 percent to 40 percent, -- the largest electoral landslide in U.S. history. But on Oct. 15, The New York Daily News published a poll showing Mondale with only a 4-point deficit to Reagan, 45 percent to 41 percent.

In 1988, George H.W. Bush beat Michael Dukakis by a whopping 53.4 percent to 45.6 percent. A New York Times/CBS News Poll on Oct. 5 had Bush leading by a statistically insignificant 2 points -- 45 percent to 43 percent.

In 1992, Bill Clinton beat the first President Bush 43 percent to 37.7 percent. (Ross Perot got 18.9 percent of Bush's voters that year.) On Oct. 18, a Newsweek Poll had Clinton winning 46 percent to 31 percent, and a CBS News Poll showed Clinton winning 47 percent to 35 percent. So in 1992, the polls had Clinton 12 to 15 points ahead, but he won by only 5.3 points.

All of this indicates to me that ACORN not only manipulates that voter rolls, but they must be in charge of the polls as well.

As far as your claim that no one cares about ACORN or Ayers, that will be decided on November 4.

Lets be clear about Ayers, though. If a Republican Presidential Candidate began his political career by having a fund raiser in the living room of a member of the KKK who bombed black churches, I'm sure that would not matter to you, right? Oh, I forgot, if that same KKK member said 20 years after the bombings, he wished he bombed more black churches, that would not be relevant. Right? Please. That candidate would not be eligible for dog catcher in modern America. And you would point that out every day. And that is why I point out the Ayers and Obama relationship every day.

As for me being a sore loser, it seems to me that has yet to be decided. Let's take your premise: McCain loses. Would I be a "sore loser?" Probably not. I am not the picket sign type. However, if the margin of victory is 50 votes in a swing state, and all 50 voters registered as "Old Dirty Bastard" I reserve the right to be a sore loser.

The Republican Party Has Its Colin Removed

(My analysis during the 2008 election as to why Colin Powell endorsed Barack Obama.)

Colin Powell has endorsed Barack Obama for President. He says race had nothing to do with his decision. Remember the late Giant General Manager George Young? He once said "when they say its not about the money, its always about the money." Same think with race.

What other logical conclusion can one come too?

Obama stands for everything that Powell has worked against for the past 38 years-at least.

He worked in the Nixon White House. He was Reagan's National Security Adviser. Chairman of the Joint Chief's of Staff under Papa Bush. Secretary of State under Baby Bush. Author of the Powell Doctrine and Don't Ask Don't Tell.

This guy was so in-twined with the Republican Party, his son Michael (Fredo) Powell was chairman of the FCC. Oh yeah, Mike got to decide important matters like if Janet Jackson showed too much nip on TV or if Howard Stern let a fart contest go on for too long.

So after a lifetime of working for all of these Republican Presidents, and carrying out their military and foreign polices, he wants us to believe that he has gotten religion with this inexperienced liberal-hero of the left? Please.

Remember the "Powell Doctrine"? It meant going in with overwhelming force. Sounds like the Surge, right? Who supports the Surge? Not Powell's guy. In fact, he lives in denial that the Surge- the Greatest momentum-changing military strategy since the Civil War- is even working!

How bout those missile systems Powell advocated for? Obama is against them. Don't Ask, Don't Tell? Obama would abolish this Powell policy with a quick executive order.

What about decency and respect for the military? Obama's school's (Columbia & Harvard) refuse to let military recruiters on campus. You can be a terrorist, or a member of NAMBLA, and you are welcomed with open arms at these schools. But not a military recruiter. The Powell we thought we knew, the CCNY ROTC man, would have a problem with this. But Obama refuses to condemn his schools for this disgraceful practice.

How about the Moveon.Org ad in the New York Times that slandered General Petraeus? The Senate voted to condemn the ad, but Powell's guy, Obama, hid under his desk and voted present. Some support for our leader over there. And Powell is OK with that?

Hey Colie, you used to work at the Pentagon, right? Obama's mentor Bill Ayers, bombed your work place. You must be the real forgiving type, Colie.

Powell's explanation that he is concerned about a Republican picking the next couple of Supreme Court Justices is preposterous.

Powell was in the Nixon White House when Rehnquist was appointed. He was there when Scalia was picked by Reagan, and Thomas was picked by Poppa. He never said a word against Roberts & Alito, the baby Bush Supreme Court appointments. All of these justices are Conservative icons. Yet, Powell never stood up and excused himself for good from the Republican dinner table after their appointments.

So what is the reason for his endorsement? When you see the overwhelming evidence that Powell's written opinions, philosophy and actions have nothing in common with Obama, you have to say that in Powell's view, the election is about the complexion.

Which is a sad thing.

You know the late Jim Valvano had a guard on his team named Vinny DelNegro. Vinny played a lot of minutes; Jimmy V was questioned about this.

"People say I play Vinny a lot of minutes because he is Italian. That is not true. I play Vinny a lot of minutes because I'm Italian! said Jimmy V.

Call me crazy, but in my view, voting for a person just because he is black is just as bad as not voting for a person only because he is black.

So General Powell, here is a salute for the uniformed service you performed for your country. (That will never change.) But here is also a wave of dismissal for the actions you took today.

Ever since the election, I see it everywhere. People can't wait to tell you how liberal they are. Its on the train. It's in conversations, on the Internet, on peoples clothing, and on their desks.

Let me be blunt: I cannot worship from that same altar.

I figure now would be as good a time as any to articulate the reasons why I am not a liberal.

Here goes:

1) A liberal thinks that a 12 year old girl should be able to get an abortion without her parent's consent. The same girl would need parental notification to go on a class trip to the Bronx Zoo but would not need parental notification to obtain an abortion? This is insane to me.

2) Liberals believe the death penalty is unconstitutional. I believe the death penalty is constitutional because the 5th amendment expressly says so. (Try looking it up, it is there.)

3) Liberal lawyers will file motion after motion in a death penalty case to stall executions for as many as 20 years. When they run out of motions to file they use their last bullet: they tell a court that to have a person sitting on death row for 20 years is cruel and unusual punishment and therefore it violates the 8th amendment. Therefore, he should not be executed. Excuse me, the reason why the guy is sitting on death row for so long is because liberals tied up the Courts for years with frivolous motions. Now, because the Courts took the time to consider these motions that a liberal ACLU lawyer brought, the convict should be released from death row? The logic escapes me.

4) Liberals believe it is a perfectly legitimate for colleges to deny military recruiters access to college campuses. I would be ashamed to be a member of such a group that endorsed this despicable behavior.

5) Liberals believe the 2nd Amendment guarantees Americans the right to bare arms. I believe it guarantees the right to bear arms.

6) Liberals believe in racial preferences. When the University of Michigan gave every minority applicant 20 points just for being black and every other applicant 4 points for getting a perfect SAT score, every liberal group in the nation signed on and said that it was a perfectly legitimate system. I say that system discriminates on the basis of race and is racial engineering. I could never belong to a group that justified the University of Michigan's (and countless other colleges) discriminatory practices. Here is an example of a just affirmative action policy: for every kid that comes from a single parent home, the results are devastating. You can as a college recognize that fact by giving extra points to those children when they apply. You can also give the extra points to poor kids, say, if the parent(s) make below 50k, the kid gets extra points. But you do it for all kids that are poor and come from a single parent household.

7) Liberals want to take the affirmative action laws and apply them to criminal law. What you get is hate crime legislation which attempts to criminalize thought. For centuries, our criminal law was built on the following: (1) what was the person's intent; and (2) was the action voluntary. With hate crimes, we now have to ascertain the person's thoughts. Under hate crime legislation, an equal opportunity rapist who rapes 3 women in Prospect Park regardless of color is treated less severely than a rapist who who rapes one woman of a particular racial/ethnic group and says he wanted to pick a member of that group as his victim. I say treat the crimes and the criminal equally. You don't get rewarded for being an equal opportunity criminal.

8) Speaking of liberals and crime, you usually only hear liberals voice their concern about crime only in the following two situations: (1) when the accused is a police officer; and (2) when the victim is a minority and the accused is white. Every day, thousands of black on black and black on white and white on white crime goes on. Not a peep from liberals. I could not be a member of a group that only voices my concern about crime in such selective situations.

9) Speaking of crime, liberals always want special rules when the accused is a police officer, they want a special prosecutor, and if the police officer is found innocent, they want to try him again in federal court. I'm sorry, you don't get to pick and choose prosecutors, you get the one that the people elected. Further, and I don't care for how the courts have interpreted this so far, when you try a man twice for a crime that involves the same elements, it violates the double jeopardy clause of the constitution. Thus I believe that Lemrick Nelson should never have been tried by the feds and the cops in the Sean Bell matter should not be indicted in Federal Court. I could never be part of a group that forum shops for prosecutors and courts after a man has been acquitted.

10) Liberals wear political slogans attached to their clothes or as their clothes. Enough with the Che Guevara tee-shirts. Enough with the Obama buttons and shirts. Reagan won 49 states, and I never saw anybody walk around with a Reagan shirt. I never could figure out why liberals use their bodies as advertising space for political purposes. Weird s**t. Get over yourselves.

11) Liberals see people as members of groups; I see people as individuals. For example a liberal politician will go through his laundry list and say "this is what I offer unions" "this is what I will do for blacks" "this is what I will do for young people". A Bill Buckley or Ron Reagan will offer ideas like "I will cut taxes" "I will roll back Soviet expansion" or in Bill Buckley's case "I advocate the legalization of drugs." These ideas are for all individuals to accept or reject, they are not tailored to individual groups like labor unions or soccer moms.

12) Liberals feel that we must publish as soon as possible all photos of Abu Garhib, and all other pics that depict American soldiers in a bad light. Yet, liberals do not want Americans to be shown video of planes crashing into the Towers, or maniacal Muslims beheading Americans. I feel just the opposite: I would not show photos of American soldiers that could be distorted by our enemy, and I would show 9-11 footage every day. I'm funny in that way.

13) Liberals believe in a "living constitution". That means that the words in the constitution have no set meaning; the definition can change without changing the actual words. I believe in just the opposite: the words in the constitution are defined by what they meant when the American people ratified it at that time. I am an Originalist. Let's see how it could play out: The 13th amendment was ratified in 1868. The words and definitions of the 13th amendment as understood at the time of ratification clearly makes slavery unconstitutional. Accordingly, an Originalist would view slavery as unconstitutional based on the meaning of the 13th amendment. However, a "living constitutional" view could conceivably say "who cares what they said in 1868, nowadays, slavery is perfectly permissible." You see, with a living Constitution there is no fixed meaning, there are no standards, and all of our constitutional freedoms are always at peril. I could never sign on for that.

14) Liberals think that the war on terror should be primarily handled by our criminal justice system. They want subpoenas, depositions and discovery motions. I want bombs, bullets and drones.

15) Liberals will tell you that the burning of the American flag is free speech but the burning of a cross is a crime. I believe they are both crimes. It's burning, not speaking.

16) Liberals do not want our federal immigration laws to be enforced. I believe that illegal immigration lowers wages of Americans, puts an undue financial strain on our social services systems, takes undue advantage of illegal aliens and is a national security threat.

16) Liberals want to pass the "Fairness Doctrine" which would target and eliminate conservative speech on talk radio. I feel this is a Stalinist tactic, and liberals who support it are enemies of the first amendment.

17) Liberals want Michael Vick to serve a long jail sentence, I believe the man has paid his penalty.

18) Liberals were more outraged by Mark Furhman's use of racial epithets than OJ Simpson's slashing off of the heads of two innocent people. I saw it the other way.

19) Liberals want to give illegal aliens state-issued driving licenses. I don't.

20) Liberals want to close down our Prison Camp at Guantanamo Bay. I would expand it.

21) Liberals want to keep poor children in public schools that have failed generations of Americans. I would give those children a chance to go to private, parochial or charter schools. I never understood why at 18, you can get government grants, aid, loans etc. to use for any school that will accept you, but you can't have those options and 12 or 15 (with the parents making the choice). Its immoral to tell a mother that she has to send her third son to Thomas Jefferson High School when the first two did not graduate from there. Liberals are a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Teacher's Union. As long as that is the case, we will never get education reform in this country.

22) Liberals think that NAMBLA has a constitutional right to exist, while the Boy Scouts must amend their rules to include homosexuals. I believe the full force of local and federal civil laws should be used against NAMBLA, and the Boy Scouts, like any other non-criminal private entity, have the right to include and/or exclude whomever they wish.

23) When building a statue, liberals, in the name of "fictional diversity" wanted to change the race of those first responders who raised the flag after 9-11. I say the statue should depict the actual men who raised the flag.

24) "Illegal" Elian Gonzalez is the only illegal alien that Liberals wanted to remove from this country. And they did it by force. I thought we should have given the kid asylum.

25) Liberals liked 42 Street better when in has filled with drug dealers, prostitutes and porn shops. I think it is better now.

26) Not one liberal group stepped forward to help when those Duke lacrosse players were being railroaded by a runaway prosecutor and a lying whore. In fact, many liberal groups, including the NAACP and the teachers on campus openly declared these kids guilty. I could never be part of a group that takes part in such a miscarriage of justice.

27) Liberals think Ronald Reagan was a dumb man. I question the intellect of all those who feel that way.

28) Liberals will never tell you that a problem is solved. They will always say "Yes, we have made progress, but we have so much further to go." They won't even tell you what the solution will be, just that... "we have so much more to go".

29) Liberals believe that the use of tax dollars to subsidize "art" that denigrates Catholic symbols like the Virgin Mary smeared in s**t or the crucifix in a jar of piss is valid. I think it is a travesty.

30) Liberals believe that equality means equal results. I believe that equality means equal access to opportunity. What you do with that opportunity is up to you.

An Old Man Shall Lead Us

(Written during the end of the 2008 Presidential Campaign, when it was obvious that McCain needed Pennsylvania to have any chance to win the election)

Senor, senor, do you know where we're headin'?

I have seen all the maps. All the data. At this point, I know more about the electoral college than my own college. And what that data is telling me is not good news for the Old Man.

What it says is that McCain has one play: Unless he wins Pennsylvania, McCain will be more jammed up than a constipated participant in the Nathan's 4th of July hot dog eating contest.

Problem: the Poles,as well as the Irish and Italians, all say that McCain is behind in Pennsylvania.

What's a war hero to do? What you do is you call in the most popular man in Pennsylvania since Ben Franklin. This man has been approached by both political parties over the last 30 years to run for governor in Pennsylvania. Please run they said. He would have won by a landslide, no matter what party he ran with, no matter how many ACORN workers stuffed the ballot box against him, no matter what year he ran.

I'm talking about Joe Paterno. He is literally a God in Pennsylvania. Worshiped and adored from the steel mills to the suburbs. Plus, it does not hurt that his team is a powerhouse again.

Somehow, I think the 82 year old Brooklyn born Joe PA has more in common with the 72 year old Senator from Arizona than the 47 year old Democratic nominee who was born in..... actually, we really don't know where he was born because he has not produced a birth certificate. That constitutional requirement that to run for President you have to be born on U.S. soil? Please. The Constitution is a living document. Kenya, America, what's the difference?

Think about it: If your kid plays Knute Rockne Pee Wee football, you have to produce a birth certificate in order to allow him to play. To be President of the United States, all of a sudden you don't have to. The standards in Barack-America, are less for the Presidency than for Pee Wee football.

Back to the matter at hand.

The Old Man needs the Older Man's endorsement. Let Paterno introduce him all over Western PA. Lets have a big rally at the football stadium in University Park. I want to see both men rolling around on the ground with a Nittany Lion licking their faces. How's that for a photo op.

McCain can give a speech on how under Obama's health plan, Joe PA's glasses won't be covered. Speaking of Joe PA's glasses, has anyone ever had thicker lenses? Joe PA's glasses are thicker than the bullet proof glass in a 24 hour bodega on Malcolm X Boulevard.

Joe PA can't produce all miracles though. We still would concede Philly to Obama, even Joe PA can't turn water into wine. (Although Philly's own Joe Frazier would be one man who wouldn't vote for Obama just because he is black. Remember, Joe was able to resist the intense racial pressure put on him when he stood his ground and said that Ali should not have ducked his military induction. Joe is a stand-up American, and one of my favorite men ever. I love Joe's response when people point out to him that Ali won 2 out of there 3 fights. "Look at him now, and look at me now. Now tell me who won all three fights?")

A couple of years ago, Joe Frazier was in a car accident and underwent 4 surgeries on his neck and back. The word was that Larry Holmes helped pay for the surgeries. The New York Times asked Holmes about this, and here is what he said:

“Joe Frazier is my friend, and what I choose to do for my friends is my own business,” he said. “If I do anything for a friend, it is not done for the purpose of making myself look good and getting my name in the paper. But know this about my friendship with Joe: If I had $4 left in my wallet, two of those would go to Joe.”

I always loved that quote by Larry Holmes.

So Joe PA is the Old Man's Flutie to Phelan. If it does not work, we will soon be eligible to join the European Union.

Give The Man The Respect He Deserves

(After McCain lost, a friend of mine showed me a copy of a t-shirt with Obama dunking over McCain. Obama's crotch was in McCain's face, and McCain was waving a white flag of surrender. This was my response to that shirt.)

Hey:

Regarding the T shirt, its not so much that I find it offensive, its just that you have lectured me your whole life on what is offensive and the need to be sensitive to what others feel, and yet you are tone deaf to your own sentiment when it comes to the t- shirt.

Leaving me out of it, you heard from Robby that it was offensive, but I guess Robby does not count. He does not belong to the right group that is able to be or feel offended.

Even from your point of view, do you really want to stereotype the first black president by having him dunk a basketball in a white person's face? With his crotch in the face of the white person?

Is that the message you want to convey?

Now regarding McCain to have him wave the white flag of surrender is demeaning to the man. He devoted 50 years to public service. While he was a POW, he was offered early release, and refused. He was tortured and crippled. You talk about police brutality, this man was at the mercy of god knows how many Justin Volpe- types. He had no lawyer. He had a prison sentence with no end in sight. No right to appeal. No letters from home. No visitors.

When he was released, he was under 100 lbs. He was (and still is) crippled.

Somehow, he was able to take that broken life, filled with enough terror, horror and pain to break thousands of men, and pick himself up and go into public life. It could not have been easy. He could have faded into obscurity, a benign figure that we would wave to at a Veteran's Day Parade. But he was no quitter. He overcame obstacles that you and I can only imagine. Disagree with him politically, that is your right, and I disagree with him on numerous things.

But to have that man waving that flag.....it demeans the man.

And the man deserves everybody's respect.
