For anyone interested in NYC history, check out this interview with three-time NYC Mayor Ed Koch. Koch reveals that during his mayoralty,there was a time when he was clinically depressed to the point where he could hardly get out of bed, but a call from Cardinal O'Connor lifted his spirits and broke him out of his depression. Koch calls Cardinal O'Connor a "true brother". Check it out:
