Hated It

Yesterday was the last day of school.  I have clear memories of what my thoughts were on the last day of school: I can't believe I have to go to summer school-again.

I hated my high school.  Hated it.  When the last period bell rang at 2:30, you could have had Lance Armstrong on a bike, a NASCAR champion in a car, and Usain Bolt in his sneakers and I would have beaten them all in a race from the classroom to the F train back to Brooklyn.  I was so fast, the sound of the last period bell merged with the F train "watch the closing doors" announcement with me easily sitting on the train.  I would leave with such a tremendous burst, Rickey Henderson studied tapes of me to learn how to get a jump from first base.

I hated traveling from Brooklyn to Manhattan.  I hated wearing a goofy blazer like I a fourteen-year-old business man.   And to have to do it in the summer-that blew....

Enough

Glenn Beck is just the latest big-name conservative to be physically assaulted by a liberal mob.  It happens far too much, and it has been tolerated for far too long.  Today, Annie Coulter--herself a victim of liberal thugs-- writes on what should be the proper reaction: you fight back and beat the shit out of your attackers.

After The Big Man Joined The Band, The Door Was Closed

Let's hold Bruce Springsteen to the same standard that he holds the Republican Party to:

Clarence Clemons just died.  He was part of Bruce's band, the E Street Band, for 40 years.  During that time, he was the only black member of the band.  Are you telling me that for 40 years, Bruce could not find another black person qualified to join the band?  Of course he could, but he chose not to.  Why is that?  The man is forever preaching about brotherhood and equality-yet he could not be bothered to apply those principles to his own band.

And its not like there was a lot of red tape or office politics involved: Bruce is the Boss.  With a capital B.  He could have hired qualified, talented minorities at the snap of a finger-but he never did.

In fact, after he hired Clemons, Bruce has gone almost a half century and he still has not hired another minority.  It sounds like a hiring record that only George Wallace would love.

Given these facts, is it any wonder that you never see black people attending a Springsteen show?  Look at those audiences; they are whiter than Johnny Winter walking in a blizzard.  With the death of Clemons, the total number of black people attending Springsteen concerts will drop from 1 to 0.

Springsteen is not just a rock star; he is also a billion dollar business.  And his record on minority outreach is abysmal.

He can perform at all the Obama fundraisers he wants, he can preach to his hearts content, but that does not change his 40 year record of exclusion.

Quiz

Now that we know for sure that Weiner knowingly chatted with minors online, lets have a two question quiz:

1) Would you knowingly chat online with a minor?  Yes  No

2) If you answered yes, would you mention to that minor that you were wearing tights?  Yes No

If you answered yes to both, please turn yourself in to the authorities...

It's Good to See The So-Called King Toppled....

In the 4th quarter, in games 4-6, didn't Lebron look like Tyson searching for his mouthpiece against Buster Douglas?  Or maybe he was like the Marine on the stand in "A Few Good Men", unsure on how to answer and looking for Dwayne Wade for guidance?

It was compelling to watch to see a man just not being able to handle the moment.  He looked like Ralph Kramden in the "oh, it can core a apple" episode.

The Creepy Congressman

Take a look at his creepy face. If a guy like this sat next to you on the train, you would move away a couple of seats .  He looks like a sex offender that just conned his probation officer. The sick look on his face says, "I'm on the Homeland Security Committee, and yes, I  just sent you a cock shot...."   What a lowlife psycho...

And It Wasn't E Harmony......

So Weiner's wife is pregnant.  How nice.  They make such a great couple.  I heard they met online....

Congressman Cock Shot

We should always take time to appreciate the small pleasures in life.  The things that money can't buy.  Like the smile on a child's face, or watching the sun rise, or the greatest gift of all: watching a filthy liberal icon self destruct in front of the whole nation.

I love it when that happens.

Anthony Weiner, hero to the MSNBC crowd, adored by the Bill Maher audience, admired by the New York Times cabal, exposed himself by exposing himself.

This poster boy for the libs is a degenerate.  An out- of- control reckless fool. What a sick bastard. Truly disturbed.

And the whole world knows it.

Would you want this guy as your neighbor?  Or teaching you kid in school?

I keep waiting for that guy from MSNBC who busts those pedophiles to burst into Weiner's office.

He was always the most intolerable liberal, a race-baiting demagogue who came from the "I'm smarter than you" school whenever he was in front of a camera, and by camera, I mean a television camera, not the camera he used to send cock shots over the Internet to strange women young enough to be his daughter...

In politics, even before all this, he truly was the bottom of the barrel, the worst that the libs had to offer.

And that's saying a lot.

More to come...

Kong

Adam Carolla's story on how Kareem was a real dick in refusing a kid's request for a autograph reminds me of a similar story.

In 1980 or 1981, a  Dave Kingman  at bat was one of the few reasons anyone would watch a Met game.  He would hit moonshots.  Or strikeout on a pitch over his head or at his toes.  There was no middle ground with King Kong.

So one day after a game Baldman and his pals ran into Kingman right outside the Met clubhouse.  They were face to face with King Kong.  And they did what all kids would do in that situation: they asked him for his autograph.

And 30 years later, Baldman still remembers Kingman's response:

Not tonight guys, my shoulder hurts.

His shoulder hurts?  We just saw him hit a baseball beyond the Shea bullpen and into the parking lot.

He was fucking with us.  And he knew it, and we knew it, and he knew that we knew it.

And he could care less.

What a twisted thing to do.

Years later, when I read that he sent a  female sportswriter a package that contained a live rat, I have to say it was not a shock-not at all.

Kareem

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has been whining that there is no statue of him outside the Staples Center.  Now there are two things we know about Kareem:

1) He had the most unstoppable weapon in the history of sports-the sky hook.  He was automatic.  With Kareem, once he got into that rolling motion, you put the two points in the books.  With every other superstar (Jordan, Bird, etc.) they would occasionally make a shot where you could not believe it went in.  With Kareem, there were no surprises-you knew it was going in.  Always.

2) He has spent his whole life being a dick to people.  (Check out the Adam Carolla video below, where he witnessed Jabbar dealing with a kid's autograph request.)  For close to half century, Kareem has, in the words of Peter Vecsey, "burned every bridge in front of him."

And once the sky hook was gone, and Kareem needed people to look out for him, to hook him up, to do him favors, to give him recognition, everyone who was in a position to do so had been dissed by Kareem.

And they have treated Kareem like he treated them.

Moral of the story: Even if you scored 38,000 points, you should not be a dick to people.

Musical Gleason

People forget that the great Jackie Gleason sold millions of records of his musical arrangements of love songs.  In a 1985 piece by Pete Hamill in New York Magazine, Gleason explained when he learned the importance of music:

"I saw Clark Gable in a picture.  He's on a couch with a broad.  Nothing's happening.  Then the music starts, and Gable is the most romantic son of a bitch you ever saw.  And I say to myself, 'If Gable needs strings, what about some poor schmuck from Brooklyn?'"

Posada

What we can learn from the Jorge Posada thing and the "whore four" is very enlightening.  Fans will tolerate a lot.  You can do steroids.  You can not hustle.  You can do drugs.  You can shoot yourself in the leg, or conduct horrible dog fights.

But certain things are sacrosanct.  And you never know exactly what they are, and where the boundaries lie, until it has been crossed.

And one of those things is that the manager makes the lineup.  And the players accept that the manager has that authority.  It's something every kid learns in little league.

So when Posada said in effect, "kiss my ass, I ain't batting last" and decided he would not play, it hit a nerve.

He crossed a line that should never be crossed.

And it doesn't matter that he is part of the dopey whore four, or how many championships he has been a part of, or that he has built up a lot of good will-the manager makes the lineup.

I'm sure Posada was shocked at how people reacted, but it was refreshing to see it.  He was tampering with something so basic and fundamental, and the same fans who will tolerate a lot of things, drew the line at Posada's behaviour.

And that's that.

Dialogue between Bin Laden and his wife at the compound:

Karen: I don't know. I don't know if I could live that way. What if, God forbid, you go to Gitmo?

Wanting to see the photos is not spiking the football, its more like looking at the replay to confirm that the touchdown actually occurred.  Do we have the right to see the photos?  Of course we do.

When it came to Abu Ghraib, the hard left said "we have a right to know" but when it comes to the murder of Bin Laden, an enemy of historic proportions, they tell us we don't have a right at all. The lesson: pictures that will embarrass our military should be distributed wide and far; pictures that will confirm one of the greatest accomplishments in American military history must be hidden away from the public view.

You can't underestimate how big a deal this is.  Bid Laden is our generation's Hitler.  Show the pics....

I Love It So...

Could it have played out any better?

Our guys go to Osama's house, break in, put two bullets in his head,-- in front of his wife (one of many) and children-- and take his body and dump it into the ocean?

A straight-up assassination.  Let me count the ways I love it so:

1) It was just us.  No "international community".  No "coalition of the willing".  We did not inform ANYBODY.  We did not feel the compulsion to get others to at least fake that they were involved in the assassination.  We did not say, "Hey England, or Australia, want to hold onto this ham radio during the raid?  We'll give you credit during the press conference."  It was vital that Bin Laden was killed by an American.  By going it alone, we ensured that it played out that way.

2) We did not ask permission from Pakistan.  We tracked him, found him and killed him. We did not let geographical borders impede the mission.

3) No lawyers. No Miranda warnings-unless Miranda was the name of the broad Bid Laden the coward used as a human shield before he took two to the head.  No memorandum from the Justice Department on how many times the SEALS had to knock on the door before proceeding.  It was a military operation-not a criminal justice take down.  No subpoenas, depositions or motions.  Just two to the head.

4) Our military guys.  God bless them, the SEALS and all the rest.  They are the best of the best. Look at the percentage of people that serve in the military compared to those that do not or have not served. The disparity is the largest in American history.  They have taken on a burden that is so disproportionate-and yet they never complain.  What they did yesterday will be remembered ---for as long as we have a country--as one of the greatest military achievements in American history.  How can you not burst with pride when you think about our military?

"What's French-Canadian for 'I grew up without a mother'?"

Although Phoebe Snow seemingly faded from the entertainment scene, she had two high- profile mentions: Howard Stern & The Sopranos.

As for the Sopranos, Phoebe and one of her songs are mentioned in one of the greatest Sopranos scenes ever:

Snow In Heaven

The great Phoebe Snow, who passed away today, proves there's an exception to every rule.  Snow who was 60, was part of the baby boomer generation.  The worst generation.  The most selfish, the least giving.  The first generation to say it was okay to abandon your country in a time of war, to over-indulge in the "if it feels good, do it" culture, and to abandon their children at record levels.

What a horrible legacy.

But then there's Phoebe.

What a voice on her, large and strong.  Powerful without overpowering the listener.  No auto-tunes for her.  She sold records, sold out concerts, and had a large and loyal following.

But she put it all on hold when she had Valerie.

Valerie was born with severe brain damage.  She wasn't supposed to make it to the age of 3.  Phoebe did everything with her daughter.  24/7 she took care of her.  Stopped the whole career thing in its tracks.  For a higher purpose.

And because of her dedication, Valerie lived for 28 more years than was expected.  31 years-she was there 24/7.

Phoebe Snow, the baby boomer who proves there's an exception to every rule, dead at 60.

Earth Day has nothing to do with the environment.  No, instead it is a day for people to show other people how much they allegedly care about the ....earth

Look at me... I care

Look at me.... I am virtuous

For a day that is allegedly about all things in an organic natural state, it is totally manufactured, man-made creation, designed to bring self-serving praise to the person who "celebrates" it....

A Passing of the Commie Torch..

Cuba's state run media--is there any other kind in Cuba?-- is reporting that Castro is passing the torch to a fellow comrade, an eighty-year-old communist who has been Castro's red-handed man since the commies took over the island.

I sure hope that under the new leadership, they still maintain a better health care system than the United States...

Isn't that one of the greatest bullshit stories the libs have ever told?

The ambulances in Cuba are Russian cars made in the 1950's, the hospitals have no band aids, and Castro thinks when you say "penicillin" you mean "peninsula".

Please, I would rather die in an American sewer than go to Havana and have Castro's doctors operate on me...

An Opportunity Lost

In an interview yesterday, Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. blamed Apple Inc. for inventing the iPad which has led, in his view, to the elimination of thousands of American jobs.

Let's leave aside the economic arguments of job creation attained by technological innovation and advancements by companies such as Apple.

Let's focus on motivation.  JJ Jr. might be lamenting that he didn't get a piece of the action by using his father's playbook.

Remember the Budweiser shakedown?

Years ago, Jesse the father conducted a  campaign against Budweiser.  He called Budweiser insensitive to blacks and charged the company with a horrible record when it comes to minority hiring, recruitment and advancement.

But then he stopped.

All of a sudden, Jesse went silent on Budweiser, which given his track record, is an impossible thing to contemplate.

What happened?

The soul shakedown is what happened.

Jesse got Budweiser to give a very lucrative distributorship to two of his sons.  In return, Jesse's claims against the company's minority hiring  mysteriously went away.

How lucrative?  The distributorship they are the exclusive supplier of all Anheuser-Bush products on Chicago's North Side.

One thing I am not sure of is whether the kids that got the distributorship are the children the good Reverend has with his wife or are the product of his love affairs outside of his marriage.

So maybe Junior Jackson wishes he went after Apple using the Budweiser template.

His kids could have owned an Apple store....

No Parades

They are making the Son of Mario into the next Milton Friedman because of the budget he just passed.

Please.

He cuts spending by a puny 2%-and is hailed as a fiscal hero?

The fact that this budget is  being celebrated shows how pathetic we have become.

This budget solves nothing.

It does nothing regarding pension reform.  Without that, the 2% cut is like putting an ace bandage on the ankle of a lung cancer patient and giving them a clean bill of health.

The budget is silent on putting much-needed caps on medical malpractice lawsuits, which is killing the state.

He avoids the public unions altogether, including the insanity that allows the teacher's union to decide who gets laid off.

Speaking of the teachers union, you know how you can tell if the Son of Mario is doing a good job?  When the unions hate his guts as much as they hate Chris Christie and Scot Walker, that's when.

There's nothing brave in this budget;we are still on the road to fiscal ruin.

So don't throw him a parade.

Counting

NYC officials are complaining  that the city has been under counted in the 2010 Census.  Their complaint goes like this:

1) We are a haven for illegal immigrants.

2) We have regulations that forbids city government agencies from asking people to prove their legal status.

3) We provide unlimited social services to all illegal aliens that live in New York City.

4) Because of 1-3, we are a magnet that naturally attracts more and more people.

5) When the Census counters knock on the doors of illegal aliens, they purposely decide not to answer.

6) As a result, the illegal aliens-- who violate federal law by entering the country and receive services provided by the U.S. taxpayer-- are under counted by the Census.

7) Because they are under counted, we will receive less money from the federal government, which we need desperately because we are a city that  by design is a magnet for illegal aliens.

And around and around we go.

We are doomed.

Why He Did It

President OBomber agreed to implement the No-Fly Zone because we wants to encourage people to use high-speed rails.....

Barack OBomber

A lot of people when they go on spring break, they go to South America and get bombed.  Obama, the Neo-Bam, went to South America to begin bombing.  He did not bother to go to Congress to authorize military action action Libya, nor did he take the time to explain to the American people his rationale.

And after the bombing began, he continued his spring break. You would think that he would shake the hand of the Brazilian leader and say, "Sorry, I gotta split, I just started a war".  But if you thought that, you would be wrong.  Because Obama's spring break  tour continues as he makes his way to Chile.

Don't you find that equal parts odd and irresponsible? And downright weird?

And what about starting a war without getting authorization from Congress?

I thought libs were into the whole voting thing.  Rock the Vote. Vote or Die.

Want to turn your liberal friends/associates into as Tommy from Goodfella's would say, "stubling mumbling pricks?"  Just quote Obama  from 2007, before he turned into Neo-Bam:

The President does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation.

Watch them stumble as they try to reconcile that statement with the Barack O' Neo-Bomber of 2011.

Even Harry Houdini couldn't get out of that bind.

But we don't hear a peep from the anti-war crowd, do we?

The Fraud Five

Jalen Rose has done the impossible: by calling the black Duke players Uncle Toms, he has made me sympathetic to Duke.  What a horrible thing for me to feel-especially on the eve of the tournament.

Rose made his tasteless observation when he was promoting his bogus documentary, "The Fraud Five."

The Fraud Five never won a championship, never took a Big Ten crown, and they get their own documentary?

From all accounts their biggest contribution was the length of their shorts and the color of their sneakers.  Make a mental note: when the most memorable thing about a team is their sense of fashion, you know they never won anything.

But there is a Fab Fraud Documentary worth making: the relationship between Chris Webber and Detroit bookie Ed Martin.  Someone should look under the hood and tell us what they find.

Anyway, Grant Hill responded to Rose's comments in the New York Slimes, linked below. It's a masterful take down of Rose by Hill.

And while you should read the whole thing, take note of this little tidbit:

I come from a strong legacy of black Americans. My namesake, Henry Hill, my father’s father, was a day laborer in Baltimore.

How awesome-Grant Hill is named after his grandfather, Henry Hill!  I wonder if his grandmother is named Karen?

Grant Hill's Response to Jalen Rose - NYTimes.com

He Has His Priorities

Just because the world is on fire with tsunamis, nuclear meltdowns, civil wars, -not to mention a lack of a budget here which could lead to a government shutdown- it doesn't mean that the leader of the free world should not take the time to go on national television to complete his March Madness brackets...

By the way, if he filled out his brackets  like the way he's handled Libya, he would wait until the championship game is over and than write in the winner.....

A Tie Goes To....

Every year there are teams that get left out of the NCAA Tournament.  That's the way the ball bounces.  This year, Harvard was one school that had a legitimate claim to the dance, but instead were left outside the club hoping that the bouncer would let them in-but it never happened.

Let's examine Harvard's credentials.  They had their best record in more than a half century.  They had an amazing conference record.  Their RPI and strength of schedule were top-notch.

So why didn't they make it?  Well the truth was it came down to Harvard and one other school.  They were absolutely deadlocked when the committee put Harvard and the other school into the computer. With that being the case, the committee had to use  one last little- known tie breaker: has the school allowed the military on campus in the last 40 years?

And now you know why Harvard didn't make it.

National Punked Radio

To paraphrase Shaq, hey NPR, how does James O'Keefe's ass taste?  From now on, NPR is officially known as National Punked Radio.  How could it happen?  I mean, the people who run NPR are the brightest people we have in America-just ask them.  They don't cling to to their religion or their guns at National Punked Radio.

They are the elite of the elite-the green (energy) berets of liberal aristocracy. I mean, they speak so softly on National Punked Radio, isn't that a sign of high- level intelligence?  They went to the finest schools, they broadcast from their taxpayer paid for ivy tower and spread the liberal gospel from coast to coast.

And they got punked.

Collect Nothing

Of all the great reforms put forth by Governor Walker in Wisconsin, the one that libs least want to lose is the collection of union dues by state government.

They know it's their life blood.

And that's why it needs to be abolished everywhere.

Starting now-in Wisconsin.

It is a totally private function, done on behalf of a private organization, but provided by the taxpayer.

It is indefensible.

Think about it: the state deducts money from the paycheck of union workers, collects that money, and then hands it over to the union.

Why should any state allocate resources to collecting money for a private organization?

What exactly does the taxpayer get from this arrangement?

Public Sector union leaders know that they owe their existence to this arrangement they have with liberal politicians.

They get their money no matter what.

They have no worries when it comes to cash flow-all because of this sucker deal.

Let these unions chase down their own members for their dues.

And that's exactly what happened for a brief shining moment in New York City.  After the last illegal transit strike, Governor Pataki told the union, "collect your own dues."  And what happened? 30% of union members stopped paying.  Which resulted in the union bosses having to use time and resources like a bill collector harassing their members to pay up.

It was a great public policy.  It forced unions to collect money themselves, and made them directly accountable to their members.  And every moment they spend bill collecting was less time devoted to shaking down taxpayers.

But it didn't last. Not in hopelessly liberal New York.  After 18 months, Governor Patterson went back to the old way, and the money came flowing in again to the union coffers.

But Governor Walker seems to have what it takes to win this fight.

For the good of all of us, let's hope he wins.

A Good Deed

The racial police always have their summons book ready.  They will write you up in a second.  Check out what happened with the LA Clippers.  In late February the team put an ad in LA Times stating that in honor of black history month, they will admit 1,000 underprivileged children to their March 2 game for free.

Sounds like a nice gesture, right?  And the kids who presumably love basketball, will get a thrill from going to an NBA game.

Sounds warm and fuzzy to me.

But not to the racial police, who interpret everything through the narrow prism of race, and they always assume the worst of motives.

Check this out from the LA Times:

In honor of Black History Month, the Clippers will admit 1,000 underprivileged children free," read the text, and if you're like me, you're thinking, hmm, why are "underprivileged children" directly linked to "black history?"

Is Donald Sterling saying that the only underprivileged children are black?

How twisted is that?  The team is giving away for free 1,000 tickets to poor kids and that is seen as a bad thing?

But the racial police handed down another indictment.  More from the LA Times:

The other problem is the date of the "Black History Month" giveaway, which is March 2 against Houston. If you are going to honor that month, get the right month.

So giving poor black kids free tickets to a March 2 game is disrespectful?  I guess a home game in February would have been appropriate to the racial police, but oh no, my bad, the advertisement that announced the giveaway was insensitive so it was a lose-lose situation.

And even if the advertisement was deemed sufficient, the racial police would have focused on seat location or some other bogus issue because that's the way the game works.

Let's just hope the kids had a great time at the game, and that their experience was not tarnished by the racial police and their never-ending summons book.

My Small Market Big City Team

It seems that the banks have all shut their cash windows to Met Owner Fred Wilponzi.  Don't be surprised if you see Jose Reyes at a Flushing check-cashing place this summer, hoping that Wilponzi's checks don't bounce.  Before you know it, the Mets will be asking fans to return foul balls....

You Get What You Paid For

Kathleen Parker has been fired from the show--that nobody watches-- she co-hosted with Eliot Spitzer on CNN.  Spitzer says that he will have no problem finding a replacement:

"Let's see, to replace Kathleen, I need to pay a woman thousands of dollars  in order to spend an hour with me each night.  I think I know how to find the right candidate," said Client # 9.

Perfect for the Job

Major League Baseball has just hired Joe Torre as as vice president of baseball operations.  Torre, thinking he was not qualified, was apprehensive about taking the job, but Bud Selig told him that running baseball's operations was like managing the Yankees: you sit around all day and do nothing, and if you ever have any questions, you ask Don Zimmer for help.

A Tale of Two Walks

The Carmelo Anthony introduction last night in the Garden tells you everything you need to know about what is wrong with the NBA in general and the Knicks in particular.

Did you see it? They dimmed the lights, brought out the smoke machines, and the new saviour, St. Melo of Red Hook appeared, making his way from the tunnel to the court.  From the tunnel?  Hold on now.  Walking from the tunnel-that's what Willis did.  It is the greatest moment in Knick history, and should be untouched by anybody, especially the Knicks.

But let's compare the two walks from the tunnel.  With Melo, it was all about the glorification of self. More choreographed than a Broadway Show. Look at Melo. Celebrate Melo. All hail Melo.

Willis Reed's walk from the tunnel could not be more different, which makes it all the more remarkable that it happened in the same building.

First, there was nothing planned about what Willis did.  No one knew he would come out.  There was no announcement. It wasn't about self-glory.  It was game seven.  For all the marbles.  And moments before, he was injected with a needle that would have knocked out a rhino. And the job he had was an impossible one: to guard the greatest physical specimen in the world: Wilt Chamberlain.

And it resonated then, and even more so now.

Willis put it all on the line, in an act of physical courage and bravery. There was no public address announcer shouting his arrival.  No smoke.  No mirrors.  Just a hobbled man limping his way onto the hardwood.

With St. Melo, what was his walk from the tunnel about?  It was about hero worship.  It was about him and the glorification of fame.

Willis's walk was for the team and the city.  Melo's walk was for Melo.

And that tells you all that is wrong with the NBA.

Give It Back

If you want a quick example of how hard it is to take away a government entitlement, look at the NYC public schools this week.  You will have to look from the outside, though, because schools are closed all week.  They call it the mid winter break, which is not to be confused with the other breaks:  Christmas week, spring break, July & August summer vacation, religious holidays in September & October, Thanksgiving week, Election Day, Veterans Day, Columbus Day and others that I'm sure I left out.  Teaching is a great part time job if you can get it.

But the schools never used to have a week off in February. That all changed, however, under Obama's Presidential role model, President Carter.  In the winter of '77 or '78, the Arab world was squeezing the oil supply.  They sensed weakness in Carter, and sadly they were correct.  One of the initiatives was to conserve energy by closing schools for one week during the winter.  They called it "Energy Conservation Week."  We were told that once the crisis passed, the schools would reopen again for that week in February.

A couple of years later Reagan became President, and we had so much oil, it was coming out of our water faucets.  The oil crisis was like Carter-gone.  So the schools should have opened, right?  Wrong.  We gave the teachers a week off with pay and they had no intention of giving it back.  And our political leaders, cowards to their core, never demanded that they give that week back.

And thirty-plus years later, teachers still have that week off.

Because once the government gives you something, the post WWII generations of Americans have been brainwashed to think that you never have to give it back.

But those days are over.

Enough With The Victimhood

Here is that petty little man, Mayor Bloomberg, speaking at the American Irish Historical Society:

"I live in the neighborhood, right around the corner, normally; when I walk by this building, there are a bunch of people that are totally inebriated hanging out the window. I know that's a stereotype about the Irish, but nevertheless, we Jews around the corner think this."

Now I know the thing to do is to feign outrage, to grab the reins of victimhood and hold on tight, and to demand apologies and teachable moments from the three-term midget.

But if you do all that, you are playing the game on the liberal side of the field.  Where everyone has a grievance, a cause, a sense of entitlement.  The side of the field where you need to be "sensitive to the community."

At the end of the day, is that how we want to live?  In a perpetual state of grievance based on group- think?

Please. Whatever you think of what the vertically-challenged Mayor said, it did not negatively impact your life. You still had to get up, go to work, and if you're a Republican, pay taxes.

The whole thing reminded me of a Sopranos episode where Tony's crew took up the Italians-Are Discriminated Against cause.  The scene above is where Tony finally lays down the law with a great speech: Enough of this victimhood bullshit, whatever happened to Gary Cooper, and the strong, silent type?

Phat Yankee

CC Sabathia apparently has lost a lot of weight this winter and is raring to go.  Apparently, he was inspired to lose weight when he would walk around New York and people would come up to him and say,       "D'Brickashaw, you guys had a hell of a year!"

Kicking The Can

Just glanced at the budget proposal put out by Obama today.  Holy Sh*t.  The man locks the spending amount in at 2011 levels and calls it fiscally prudent.  Of course, he raised spending by 20% in 2010 & 2011.  Locking spending in at this level and calling it  responsible is like Charlie Sheen saying, "I will  limit my cocaine intake to only one briefcase a day."

When Jim Met Joe

If there is a more useless job in America than the NFL sideline reporter, please let me know.  They add nothing to the broadcast; no keen insights, no interesting tidbits, nothing.  When I came across the highlight above, it reminded me of the last time something memorable came out of the the sideline announcer's pie hole.

The play above is an 1986 NFC playoff game between the Giants-49ers.  Jim Burt comes up to middle to destroy Joe Montana.  If you hit a quarterback like that today, the police would cuff you and take you away before the next snap. The play was right before the half and Montana looked dead, like he got hit by a truck. So by the looks of it, you would think there was no way Montana could come back in the second half.  But you have to remember: this was Joe Fuckin Montana.  He was already a legend who could strike fear into everybody's heart.

So during halftime there was only one question:  Is Montana going to play?  Do you believe what your eyes told you, (that Montana was hit so hard, he thought his last name was North Dakota) or do you believe in the Montana legend, whereby he would shake off the injury and start throwing bombs to Jerry Rice?

So we waited for the report from the sideline reporter, Irv Cross.  CBS stationed Cross right outside the 49er locker room, where he announced to the nation:

The report on Montana is that EVERYTHING hurts, and he will not be back.

And that was the last time the sideline reporter ever said anything memorable.

He's On The Way.....

They were going to have a traditional state dinner at the White House honoring the Chinese president.  But to show how culturally sensitive the Obama White House is, they changed the starting time to 3pm and called it a lunch special.

She Loves It

With the Chinese President visiting the White House, Michelle Obama announced for the first time in her adult lifetime, she is proud of her country.....

They Won't Run It

A little Stoop preview of the Jet-Steelers AFC Championship game: The Steelers have taken the trap play out of the playbook. Every time the play came in from the sideline, it would confuse Roethlisberger; he thought it meant that his offensive linemen would guard the bathroom door while he took advantage of a passed out co-ed.  To avoid a  potential delay of game while Genital Ben figured out the play, they decided to just not run it.

The Worst

The Jets ass- beating of the Patriots made me realize something: that I don't mind Jet fans so much.  Not when compared to Yankee fans, with their insufferable arrogance that pours out of them like a fat man with flop sweat.  It made me think of what would be the profile of the most insufferable person in the world.

He would have to be a Yankee fan and a Cowboy fan that lives in New York or San Francisco.  He has an Obama "Yes We Can" button or t-shirt.  He goes to coffee houses with his laptop and sits there looking self important.  He's never been to Alaska, but he will lecture you on how important it is to not drill for oil there.  He hates Walmart.  He was more mad at Mark Furhman than OJ Simpson.  He thinks Jon Stewart is funnier than Richard Pryor.  He would never send his kid to a zoned public school in urban America, but will pontificate on how strongly he feels about his commitment to public education.  His solution to every problem is the government needs to spend more money.  He thinks he's hip because he "gets" Rachel Madow.  He thinks that Clarence Thomas is dumb, and Sonia Sotomayor is brilliant.  He has an NPR tote bag that he brings to the coffee house.  He loves the Indigo Girls.  He tries extra hard when he pronounces a Spanish word like "HO-SAY."  When referring to the racial racketeer, he always calls him "Reverend Sharpton."  He attends tennis matches, and will tell you how great David Dinkins is because of the U.S. Open.  He watches Saturday Night Live.  He hates talk radio.  He uses the word "misogynist".  At some point, he has owned a Che Guvera poster. He is rabid in his hatred for Sarah Palin.  He has attended a John Lennon Memorial Service outside the Dakota, hoping that Yoko would wave from the window.  He pretends that he reads Cornel West.  He has a West Indian nanny that raises his kid, and pays her poorly. He thinks our border should be open, and that Borders bookstore should close because it hurts independent book sellers.  He thinks southern whites and northern Italians are racists.  He is anti-religion, but wants a mosque near Ground Zero.  He thinks that Mel Gibson should be jailed, and Roman Polanski should remain free.  He adores Fidel Castro.  He wanted the Duke lacrosse players jailed, regardless of the evidence.  He talks of "root causes."  When it comes to racial issues, he always advises, "We have made some progress, but we have so much more to go."  He has either built houses for Habitat For Humanity or post-Katrina New Orleans.  And has the pictures to prove it.  He thinks the Carter presidency is misunderstood.  He likes the golden voice crack head Ted Williams more than the war hero Ted Williams.  He never watches an Army-Navy football game.  He lectures on how great the World Cup is.  He thinks that all corporations are evil, and all Catholic priests are child molesters.  He really believes that Derek Jeter calls his old manager "Mr. Torre."  He has more contempt for Haliburton than Bin Laden.  He believes that reading the New York Times is a sign of intelligence and argues that looking at kiddie porn is protected by the first amendment. He loves teachable moments.  He is overly concerned with what the rest of the world thinks.  He raves about the Cuban health care system.  He loves Michael Moore and never misses Bill Maher's television show.  He thinks Obama's problem is that he hasn't delivered his message effectively enough.  He thinks everyone who makes more money than him should pay more taxes.  He goes through the motions and begrudgingly stands for the National Anthem.....

I'm sure I missed a lot, but that's what I have so far.....

Good Work By Joe

Today is the 69th birthday of somebody known throughout the world.  An ardent supporter of segregation, he attended Klan meetings.  He believed that certain people were wicked-because of their race.  That these  same people came to be because of an experiment gone wrong by an evil scientist.  To top it off, he was a race baiter of the worst kind, and when it came time to serve his country in a time of war, he dodged the draft.  Yes, it is Muhammad Ali's birthday.  On this day it's always nice to remember Joe Frazier's quote, "Look at him now and look at me, and tell me who won all three fights."

Yes We Can! (Turn A Funeral Into A Political Rally)

When you think the filthy left could not be more unhinged from reality, they do things to make you think again. What a disgrace that was at the memorial service in Tucson.  Handing out t -shirts at a funeral?  People were murdered and they make it an Obama pep rally?  And don't buy for a second that Obama did not endorse passing out of the t shirts.  This man's every public appearance is more scripted and orchestrated than a Scorsese movie.  He literally can't speak to a kindergarten class without help from his Teleprompter.  So of course he was down with it.  I'm surprised they did not have idiots shooting the t- shirts into the crowd like they do at Knick games.  Maybe they didn't do that because  in their twisted mind, they think it would promote gun use.  How unserious are these people? After the cheers and t- shirts, I was expecting the Black Eyed Peas or Dave Mathews  to come out from behind the stage and start singing-at a funeral.  Because young people can really relate to the president.

So they pin a mass murder on Sarah Palin, and then they celebrate at the funeral by handing out Obama t- shirts.

Do me a favor: when I die, don't hand out any t -shirts; even if the President of the United States of America shows up.

The Despicable Left

Here's a partial list of some of the incidents the left has tried to pin on conservatives. The Columbine shooters. The 1995 Oklahoma City bombing (specifically they tried to blame me for that). The DC sniper. The New York City Times Square car bomb attempt. They tried to blame that on some Tea Partier angry at the health law, then we find out that was radical Islamists. The February 2010 IRS plane attack in San Antonio. Remember that? It had to be an anti-government clown that flew that plane into the IRS office, had to be. The Pentagon subway shooter. The Fort Hood attack. The Discovery Channel hostage taker. And this guy [John Patrick] Bedell who went into the Pentagon and wanted to shoot these people up. This guy, by the way, is a dead ringer for Loughner. -Rush Limbaugh

Great Moments in Sports Broadcasting

Off the Mark Sanchez was overthrowing everyone last night, which caused Chris Collinsworth to observe, "Mark Sanchez has been high all night."

That was topped by Troy Aikman during a rainy game a few weeks ago when he stated, "The NFL has new rules that allows you to keep your balls warm."

The best one ever was by the great Bob Murphy, who during a  Met game said , "Bob Aspromonte's parents are here, and they're high and outside.'''

There are more videos of Rex Ryan's wife that will come out.

Keep Him Caged

Remember the FALN?  They are the Puerto Rican terrorist group that killed and maimed many Americans in the 1970's and 80's.  You may remember them from the disgraceful pardons given to many of them by Bill Clinton on his last day in office.  Why did he do it?  His wifey was running for Senate and they wanted the Puerto Rican vote.  And who signed off on these disgraceful pardons from the DOJ? Eric Holder.  History will condemn both acts.

Anyway the FALN mastermind and co-founder Oscar Lopez is up for parole tomorrow.  He is the animal that killed Frank O'Connor with an FALN planted in a bar in lower Manhattan.

Listen to Frank's son Joe on Dennis Miller, and find out what you can do to keep this animal in a cage:

Highlight Film

Now that the football season is finished, the Jets are rushing their 2010 season DVD out to the public.  It was a great year: they made the playoffs with an 11-5 record; they beat top teams like New England and Pittsburgh; and developed Mark Sanchez into a top young quarterback.  The title of the Jets 2010 DVD  is "Shaving Mrs. Ryan's Privates".

My Wish For 2011......

The Dumb, Talking About The Blind

Monkey-boy Governor Andrew Cuomo in his inaugural address praised former Governor David Paterson:

He became captain of the ship just when the ship was heading into a storm and he warned us about the storm and he brought us through the storm,”

Memo to Cuomo's speech writers: When you want to praise a blind man, perhaps it's a good idea to avoid metaphors that rely on eyesight, the captain of the ship, etc.  You might as well have said, "Patterson was a true visionary, who did not turn a blind -eye to corruption."
